A good friend of ours did the braid, she's one of those poeple who can do a complicated multi-braid 'do on herself in a moving car without a mirror. Though not while driving.
I can't wait to get up some photos of the cowboys in kilts: the groomsmen pulled out their cowboy hats to complete the outfits.
So it's probably a bit worrying to post three comments on the same entry, but I've just spent about half an hour pondering how you know I went to Mary Erskine's. I was sure I'd never mentioned it. But I've got it now! I admitted to having blue and red kilts in my past in Shauna's comments, didn't I?
I don't think I am your clone, although the general effect is not dissimilar. You seem to be fairer-haired, and your nose is straighter - and you're slimmer. (I'm going by your wedding photos. The only pictures of me on the web seem to have evaporated, otherwise I'd link to them. I keep meaning to work out how to add photos to my blog.)
My lost ring is a Ceylon sapphire, though I stopped referring to it thus after calling it a "Bombay Sapphire" once too often. I am still hoping it will reappear, although the insurance claim has now gone in...
Now, here's a new point of web ettiquette. Should I reply to your comment HERE, or at your site? I keep thinking I should pop over to your site to respond, as though it's a more old fashioned correspondence.
Yes, it was the kilt comment, I recognized the uniform, though I couldn't remember which school.
I didn't think you would be my clone, it's funny that we stumbled on each other's blogs at similar life-stages, both coming from some similar backgrounds. Not to mention the same taste in sparkly stones. I really do hope it shows up for you, I can imagine that sick feeling realizing it might be lost.
Just what I was wondering about your comment. My site is still new enough that I don't really believe anybody reads it, so... I don't know... it seemed presumptuous to expect you to go back to mine. (Even though I constantly go back to see if there are new comments on other people's blogs, while I'm checking them for new entries).
It is funny, this convergence. I tend to assume that unless my mum stumbles across my blog, I'm totally anonymous and nobody knows a thing about me or my background. Wrong...
Then again, the world is smaller than it feels. When I discovered Dietgirl, she was in Canberra and I was in Stratford-upon-Avon studying. Then she moved to Edinburgh and until recently we were living less than two miles apart... Now that's spooky.

All three of you (bride, groom and cake) look fabbydoo...
Who did the French plait? I'd kill (or almost) to be able to do one like that on myself...
Thanks!

Cowboys in kilts. I love it.
Oh, and, emm, thanks for what you said in Dietgirl's comments. I was a bit worried I would have totally alienated all the other D-girl regulars...
